Welcome 2019! Many a bleep to come.

I know I do not update this little beast very often, but I just wanted to check in with a bit of news. I am hard at work on a new I Speak Machine album - it will be my first “non-soundtrack” album in over ten years, so I’m truly excited! I am not one to be easily amused by or self-caressing about my work, so I’m just pleased that it isn’t the normal self depreciating madness that I’ve always gone through when writing. I've actually been enjoying it. I’m doing this for me. I want something to listen to that I will actually love. I want to make something that I would want to listen to. I don’t want to be the best, I don’t want to be a critic’s darling - none of that will ever happen, and it never has. I wasted a lot of energy trying to obtain that. Fuck it. Taking this outlook into the studio with me has been revolutionary. 2018 was a tough year for many, including myself, and I now just want to make some noise.

Maf has a bunch of really beautiful film & television concepts in the works for the coming year too, bubbling away. We just shot a very grisly, very fun, very violent video for the upcoming album ( I tore a hamstring and drank a lot of fake blood, which is in turn quite an effective appetite suppressant....ugh.)! Can't wait to show that too.
